Online Feed Reader Roundup

Tech Crunch Web-Based Feed Reader Comparison ChartFrank Gruber has posted a feature comparison of nine online RSS/Atom readers: Attensa Online, Bloglines, FeedLounge, Google Reader, Gritwire, News Alloy, NewsGator Online, Pluck Web Edition, and Rojo.

All readers allow you to flag/star/clip items of interest, and all of them support OPML import as well. The weakest support turns out to be for key-word searching on your own feeds — only BlogLines and NewsAlloy offer this.

The (subjective) performance review put Google Reader and FeedLounge, though the latter had significantly fewer features than most of those reviewed.

I would love to see is an expert in human factors do a serious review of these readers and high-lite the best practices for this field. (For example, Google Reader may be the fastest, but I find the interface to be irritating for the volume of feeds I read.) Is there a bat-signal to call out Steve Krug and get him on this?
